This is a new feature inspired by the truly abysmal row I had this
morning (25th Feb).  I intend to bestow upon the person who can
recount the most horrific tale of rowing misfortune, a
commendation for their services to humour.  Applications for this
prestigious award should be e-mailed to me at:
thompson_simon@hotmail.com. You can nominate yourself or a
friend and if you send a picture of yourself or the consequences
of the events you describe I’ll put that up too.  For now here is
my contribution for this week.

The plan for the outing was to do two 2ks and one 1500m piece,
no worries. I rowed down to the start and prepared to race.  The
first piece was going great until I crashed into a tree and got
nicely stuck.  Not too upset I carried on and on finishing went
down to start the next piece.  However messing about at the
start I managed to get my bow caught in the bank and gouge
out a nice deep scratch under the bow of my boat.  Slightly
miffed I started the next piece which was going great guns
until my ratemeter fell out of my boat as it is not screwed in.
However I picked it up and continued…… straight into a moored
barge, at this point I gave up.  The next piece fortunately
passed without incident.
Worst Row of the Week Award
home
The worst row ever was at the Nat Champs in the semi-final of
J164x.We were doing well all season until "University Challenge"
Andy decided to go on holiday to America for 2 weeks and come
back the day before the heats. He is a lazy bastard and was
totally unfit and did we know about it. In the semi's we went off
hard and were second at halfway until Andy blew up, after that
we had to pull the fat cunt for the second half of the course. Then
to make matters worse you guys came flying past us, and that
was the end of that.

See u at Schools head, Kev and Si Stourport lads.

PS get ready for a beating all the way.

I have to say that my worst row happened today (monday 26th). what happened was that I went down to rowing as usual thinking that we would be doing ergos because the river was awful. Upon arriving I was told that I would be going out in a four, I thought fair enough but then I was told that I would also be changing sides again, fair enough. We went out all was going well for the first 2k, then we were told to race against an eight (3rd 8) so we started, then what happened? Oh yes the wind picked up. During the race I messed up my shoulder, the cox couldn't steer so we were zig zaging down the course, but the worst thing is that now i'm ill, shame I can't go to school for at least two days.

There you ging, my worst row. It's not great but it was really bad for me.
